abstract

  • Operational Difference: Quotient Refinement, Structured Residuals, and Holonomic Retention presents a mathematical study of consequence, explanatory adequacy and achieved closure. The paper develops an operator-relative account of categorisation in which states are grouped according to their distinguishability under a declared outcome-producing structure and observational frame. It examines how changes in that structure may alter the resulting system of equivalence classes and how retained differences may remain detectable after explanatory or representational reduction. Controlled examples from hydrogen energy structure and projective quantum mechanics are used to demonstrate the framework. The discussion also considers residual structure, path dependence, geometric phase and the conditions under which return may be regarded as operationally complete. No new hydrogen spectroscopy or geometric-phase effect is claimed. The contribution lies in the integrated formal treatment of operational difference, quotient structure, residual consequence, retained invariants and achieved closure. This restricted first-draft deposit establishes provenance for ongoing mathematical and computational development within the ENSO Framework.
